Library/Media Program

Our school library and media program is a vital part of a school's educational experience. It serves as an engaging and nurturing environment for all students and is designed to inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning.

Literature appreciation is the core of our library program. Students are welcomed to the library to strengthen their reading and listening skills and practice basic literacy and library skills. Our curated collection, grounded in our Catholic identity, includes a wide variety of traditional and contemporary literature and references. Students are encouraged to explore diverse genres and formats, helping to develop an appreciation for literature while also meeting the religious, educational and recreational needs of our student population.

Our computer lab complements the library program and is available to support teachers and students from all grades. Teachers collaborate with the librarian to plan projects and utilize online resources to support and supplement the core curriculum while also building essential 21st-century skills. Special attention is given to teaching effective research methods through internet sources as well as text.

By providing access to diverse literature, teaching essential literacy and research skills, and promoting student choice we empower students to become thoughtful readers, critical thinkers and compassionate individuals ready to engage with the world around them.
